Test your endurance and swim alongside whale sharks, the largest known fish, in the Sea of Cortez on this full-day eco-tour. After driving through a beautiful desert to reach La Paz, cruise out to warm waters rich with plankton, whale sharks’ favorite food. After a swim with these giants, enjoy a delicious lunch in La Paz before heading back to Cabo. Round-trip transport from most Los Cabos hotels is included. Bucket list whale shark tour — check!

This was a bucket list activity and we weren’t disappointed. We were able to see multiple whale sharks and get a close but respectful distance to them. Awesome to go in small groups because we got so much time in the water with them. Visibility was a little low but you could still see three clearly when we got close. It is advisable to be a strong swimmer — not because it’s dangerous but just because you are swimming toward the sharks and then back to the boat repeatedly. If you aren’t a good swimmer they’ll do their best to drop you in the path of an oncoming shark, but I liked swimming alongside them. The provided wetsuits provided good buoyancy so it was easy to float in place to watch the whale sharks feeding. Emi was a great guide from Cabo, loved getting to know him. Luis was an excellent guide on the water. Thanks guys!

Emi and Hector did an excellent job and our experience was amazing. The wait time was a bit long but Emi went above and beyond to ensure we were comfy able, happy, and entertained.

Incredible!

Had an incredible day with our crew! Marco and Luis helped us to have an amazing swim with the whale sharks. We were very blessed and wound up finding this curious adolescent whale shark who was totally checking US out! Marco said he had never seen anything quite like it. We wound up each getting three dives with the same whale shark. So much fun! Marco took very good care of us, making sure we all had a great time. Highly recommend this adventure! It does require a bit of stamina though :-)

Great Experience! Highlight of my Cabo trip!

I had a great experience with all the staff, lunch and seeing whale sharks up close and personal several times. Emme was our tour guide he was very funny and helpful. My guide Joe and Captain Jorge did a great job getting us to the whale sharks fast and helping us have a great experience overall. Our driver Leo was fantastic, keeping his cool getting us to and from safetly and swiftly in a sea of crazy drivers.The bud was very nice and comfortable for even me as a big guy. The lunch was delicious! And I enjoyed the stop at the Hotel California but decided on tequila shots over the ice cream

Magical Experience - Would do it again!

I'll start by saying that I am obsessed with marine life. I have loved dolphins and whale sharks forever, so this is the ultimate greatest thing in the world for me. I can't attach videos from my GoPros in this review, but I'm telling you - it was such a mind-blowing experience swimming next to magical creatures this big. If you are not a swimmer, I would not recommend that you go. That is unless you would find it worth it to be next to one for very short periods of time. Don't even use the lifevest (unless you need it) because it will absolutely hold you back. Everyone on our boat had to turn into mermaids to keep up. I'd recommend investing in a good snorkel because it gets rough swimming in deep waters with the waves coming into your snorkel (Body Glove from Costco is the brand my group used and it was well-liked, but it doesn't work well for anyone with a beautiful beard). You obviously don't need to bring your own snorkel (they provide one and flippers), but we thought it was worth it. Take that Dramamine! It's a lot of time on the boat, heavy rocking. But I would do this experience over and over again. I hope one day I will get lucky and get to be in the water with them while they are vertical and just chowing down on some plankton. The lunchtime fish tacos were so good, by the way. I did read some reviews about people complaining about the bus, but the bus was freakin' GREAT! AC and the seats recline. Just use that commute time to SLEEP! Heads up that if your group is larger than four, they won't let you purchase that many tickets in one reservation. I bought three and two, but make sure you communicate with them that you'd like your group to stay together upon arrival. Otherwise, they will split up your group. You all ride the bus together, and then you're split into groups of 8-9 on the water.
