High quality kayaking and snorkeling

A great find! We did the kayaking and snorkeling tour around mid-December 2022. We booked the 9:00 am session, and I would highly recommend the morning option — the afternoons are windier and the water gets choppier, and I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much if it were any choppier than it was. Our guides picked us up at our hotel in Cabo San Lucas at 8:40 am. Since we were there on a Monday in the shoulder season, it ended up just being us and our two guides, Hugo and Louie. They lock any belongings you brought in the van, which worked fine. We took a tandem kayak that had a “glass bottom,” which was a small-to-medium clear plastic portal between your knees. Personally, the glass bottom part didn’t add that much for me, though it was cool to catch glimpses of fish beneath you. Our guides were on paddle boards, and led the way for the ~1 mile kayak out to the arch. On the way out, we got to take a quick photo with a sociable sea lion that jumped into the water and splashed us after the photo op. Our guides pointed out a lot of landmarks, including Lover’s Beach and Pelican Rock. The arch was very pretty and fairly busy, so after exploring a bit, we headed back to Pelican Rock for some snorkeling. The guides provided us with fins, a mask, and a snorkel and brought us to a protected swimming area. We got to snorkel for a while, and there were a lot of different colorful fish. We also saw a diving bird and a sea lion swimming with us as well, which was novel. The snorkeling masks were also pretty high quality, and I didn’t have any problems with leaky goggles and other challenges I’ve had with similar activities. When we got our fill of snorkeling, we paddled the rest of the way back to the beach, and our guides dropped us back off at our hotel shortly before noon. The whole thing was well planned and a great experience — definitely would recommend fitting it into your Cabo visit.

Let High Tide and Marco show you the arch.

From beginning to end, High Tide perfectly executed our trip to the Arch (Baja Peninsula landmark where Pacific Ocean joins Sea of Cortez). After a bit of instruction, we kayaked out in a two-seat kayak with glass bottom. After a break, we snorkeled and saw beautiful multi-colored fish. Our guide, Marco was the greatest. We learned a lot and appreciate his even keeled disposition and fun attitude. Just a fun day for all of us.

Enjoyable and active way to experience the arch.

Carlos and Emilio took us kayaking from the marina past the beaches to the arch and then snorkeling by Lovers Beach (Playa del Amor). We saw several happy sea lions playing in the sea, and a surprisingly large number of fishes when snorkleing. It was a fun and active trip. That said, because we took the afternoon option, we had to dodge a number of boats and general tourist traffic. I would highly recommend going in the morning to avoid the crowds (and probably enjoy calmer waters). The office was very responsive and helped coordinate a pickup. Carlos and Emilio took great care of us.
