Great boat, trailed 8 whales for an hour. Dinner was good for buffet, lobster was worth $20 add on. Crew was great, recommend.

A Whale of a Time

Last year, on a morning tour, we saw few whales and we were in a raft. This year (3/19/22) we took an afternoon tour (4pm) and was on a catamaran with a wonderful panoramic view of the water. The choice was a success! Saw a mama and her two babies. They frolicked, slapped their fins on the water, came up out of the water and splashed down. It was wonderful to see! Sunrider staff informed us of what we were looking at and where the whales were migrating. The mood on the catamaran was upbeat. Food was served, alcohol was flowing, music was blasting, everyone was dancing, and the whales were entertaining us. So glad we took a second chance!

Whales, Whales and more Whales

Seeing a mom and her two babies cavort in the water. They seemed to know we were watching. They splashed their fins and tails and came partially out of the water, creating a huge splash when they reentered.

Boat party, minimal whale watch!

Delayed departure, minimal whale activity, more of a party boat than a true whale watching experience. Foor was fair, not great.

Dancing on board was too lewd for families

The boat and crew were friendly and the meal served was very good . We were able to see some whales for a few minutes which was great. However on the return trip the dance party that is usually fun became a lewd event. A young man was on board with four women who were wearing butt revealing thong bikinis. They were having their own little champagne party and proceeded to bend over and grab their ankles while twerking their butts. The man then began to simulate sex while grinding into them. Not very family friendly. We have been on SunRider tours in the past, but will look elsewhere next time.
