Jacques Cousteau named this "The World's Natural Aquarium" and once in Cabo Pulmo, you will see why. As a protected marine park, Cabo Pulmo is home to a huge array of natural sea life, all protected in its natural habitat. Snorkel among huge schools of fish in the deep blue oceans, search the ocean floor for lobsters, starfish, sea snails and brightly colored corals. Visit the home of the playful sea lions and keep a watchful eye open for giant sea turtles who gently swim by.

Amazing Snorkeling Experience!

Tour Guide/Driver: Ricardo/Salvador
We loved this tour! Our tour guide was very patient with the entire group and very knowledgeable about the area. Salvador was very funny, welcoming and made sure we were all taken care of during lunch. This was our first snorkeling tour, so we can't compare it to anything else. We were able to see the coral, a lot of different types of fish. And the best part was the large school of Big-Eye Jacks. I never thought I would ever be able to see something like that. It was like something out of a Planet Earth documentary!
Breakdown of the tour:
Once you get on the shuttle, they will take everyone to the dolphin visitor center where you pay for the parking fee (make sure to bring your photo ID and have your booking confirmation).
Get back on the shuttle, breakfast will be given to eat during the drive.
Arrive at Cabo Pulmo - the dive center will issue snorkeling equipment. You can leave anything not needed on the boat in the van/shuttle. Here, there is time for a bathroom break and time to put on sunscreen.
A quick walk over to the beach and everyone loads up onto the boat. The boat ride is short to each diving location, just a few minutes in between. (We had a total of 3 locations where we dove).
After the snorkeling, everyone disembarks, there are showers to rinse off and lunch is served there at a very casual outdoor dining area.
Some things I wish I knew:
Leave anything you're not diving with in the van. I brought a hat and sunglasses to the boat and they weren't needed. The boat had shade, and the rides weren't long anyway.
Wear flip flops, or water shoes. You'll be walking to/from the beach and dive center (in the hot sand), and you'll disembark in the water so you'll want appropriate shoes.
If you want to book a tour where you stay in one location with the boat and freely get on/off the boat, that's not this tour. Everyone dives as a group and follows the tour guide. The state park has rules so that each dive can be no longer than 30 minutes. Don't let this discourage you though, it was still an amazing experience! If given the chance, we will do this tour again!
Incredible experience!!

Salvador and Richardo were absolutely incredible.
Salvador made sure every detail was handled and that all we were all safely driven to and from the excursion. Salvador also made sure everything was perfect for lunch and even bought me a Coca Cola because my head was hurting so badly.
Ricardo is remarkably knowledgeable about the marine life, the water, and the national parks - as well as much, more more. Ricardo was an excellent guide and was patient with even some very different personalities and requests for kinds of things. We could not be more pleased with his helpfulness and knowledge.
Jesus was a great, young captain of the boat today. He was pleasant and very friendly.
Would come again and WILL book again with you all!
Thanks so much!

100 stars out of 5 for Ricciardo our snorkeling guide, and Alex the best driver in America! Saw a wide variety of beautiful coral reefs and an insane amount of fish. Ricciardo took the time to explain to us the history and current status of Cabo, and explained everything in both spanish and english. Alex even helped serve us lunch and we really appreciate it. You may get a better price just booking tours locally but these two made it worth it, would recommend!
A perfect day in a national marine park in Cabo Pulmo for our family of four - well worth the trip!

A perfect day in a national marine park in Cabo Pulmo for our family of four - well worth the trip! After being picked up by shuttle, checking in at the Cabo Adventures center, you are given a sandwich and escorted via van with others for the 1h 45 minutes to Cabo Pulmo National Park. Once there, masks and fins are offered for use (you can also bring your own as we did). The larger group was then split into intimate groups of 6, and taken by boat to several beautiful reefs teeming with incredible marine life. Sea turtles of various sizes, rays, eels, brightly colored parrot fish, and others abound, amidst the backdrop of beautiful purple, blue, red and white and green reefs . Our guide Sergio and captain Juanito shared their knowledge and respect for the sea and sea life within - and as a special treat shared some deliciously sweet local mangoes too (our teen with the “discerning palate” even ate one and declared it “valid”). After several hours of snorkeling, we were brought back for a simple but very tasty meal of tacos (fish, chicken or meat) with rice and beans, the usual condiments plus spicy blistered peppers. Our vegetarian daughter was given a very yummy cheese enchilada. Everyone passed out on the shuttle home. Only thing that would have exceeded perfection would have been if they had taken photos for us (use of your own cameras are understandably discouraged for the safety of the reef). Couldn’t have asked for a better day.
